Co-op Hospital And Nusing Training Institute is providing Nursing Care Education for young people with the purpose of deserving them as a degree holder or for those missed the university education after sitting GCE (O/L) & GCE (A/L) examination and the people aim to work in nursing back ground. This institute is proving training based on National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) recognizing the longing students to become as Health care Professionals to render commendable service to the sick people.

After proving initial training for a period of 18 months in the School of Nursing, the students will be assigned for a on-the job training (OJT) in Hospitals and Care Centers for further a period of 3-6 months. The Students who passed the final examination will be awarded "Diploma in Clinical Nursing, Quality Health Care And Patient Safty" by School of Nursing.

They can achieve NVQ Level-3, Level-4 grade from the Tertiary Vocational Education Commission of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka after attending NVQ examination Through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or TVEC. The students further can achieve the NVQ Level-5 (National Diploma), Level-6 (Higher National Diploma) and Level-7 (Degree) through continual education in Sri Lanka or foreign Universities. The students who received Level-3 grade become eligible to work in any Private or Government sectors in Sri Lanka and foreign Countries.

Additionally, this institute is conducting Home Nursing Care and Care Giver training courses in order to develop knowledge and skills in Health Care Sector, to school students, volunteers, Employees of organization, young people, Preschool teachers, employees of caring centers according to their needs.

Entry Requirements

Passes in three subjects at the G.C.E Advanced Level examinations (Local or London or equivalent) obtained at one and the same sitting in the Science stream.
Pass in the aptitude test conducted by Co-Op Hospital and Nursing Training Institute.
Successful passing at an Interview conducted by a Board of Academic Panel
